Burger Tank has been on my list of food trucks to try since 2019 when I first heard about it. Unfortunately, COVID had shut down the entire world just weeks after I found out where it was—and to my dismay, Burger Tank was closed. I have been waiting to try this place for nearly four years, and March 2nd was the day my dreams became a reality. I walked over to the corner of 13th St. and Norris St. and walked up to the extensive menu. The prices were very reasonable for a burger. Most of them were about $8 for a single and $10 for a double. I chose the Insane Burger and let’s just say the name is very literal. It came with cheddar cheese, bacon, onion rings, and chipotle BBQ sauce. This burger racked up to $12, with my total coming to $15.50 with a side of fries. I waited for about 10 minutes for my monstrosity to arrive. The burger itself was massive, literally a tank, with juicy and flavorful meat. The onion rings at the bottom were my favorite part. The burger was piled high with crispy bacon and topped with so much cheese that there was a foot long cheese pull as I took my first bite. The fries were crispy, flakey and a perfect side to the burger. The Tank is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. temporarily and they are hiring! The food and service were amazing, and they now have a new, devoted customer. I will definitely be back to Burger Tank soon for more mouthwatering bites, but I am also excited to try their grilled cheese menu that a sign says is “coming soon.”
