Ernie’s Got the Steaks

There were only two things on my list of to-dos today: go to CVS to stock up on toilet paper and find a food truck on campus that I’ve never been to and that has a chicken cheesesteak. Luckily, there wasn’t a line outside of Ernie’s Lunch Truck by Ritter Hall. I have always seen the big green umbrella walking by and said “Steak and Hoagies” in big red letters on the front… so figured this was the place where I needed to be. They did in fact have chicken cheesesteaks and hoagies, with salads and wraps too. I decided to get a regular cheesesteak with no onions and a chicken too… obviously. Along with a soda, my total was $20. It was cash only, so I had to run to the nearest ATM quickly, but my silly mistake did not change the fact that these sandwiches were just what I was looking for. The chicken cheesesteak was perfect, very well-seasoned chicken topped with delectable, melted cheese. I should have asked for extra cheese on both of them, but unfortunately it slipped my mind, but next time the extra 75 cents would be worth paying. I wanted to spice it up a bit, so I added a couple dabs of hot sauce on top and it made it even better. The regular cheesesteak also satisfied my craving, I just wish they put wiz on it like some places do, but you can’t go wrong with classic, American cheese. I thought the cheesesteaks were scrumptious and I would love to go back and try out some of the other things, maybe mix and match like I did with this. Next time I am looking for a cheesesteak and don’t want to trek it into the city, I am coming straight to Ernie’s.
